Free-agent RB Jonathan Stewart (Panthers) is expected to sign with the New York Giants, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Stewart could receive a majority of the carries for the Giants but likely will be part of a committee at the position. He could be a No. 3 fantasy running back in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 3/12/2018 1:04pm ET

Free-agent RB Jonathan Stewart (Panthers) is expected to visit the New York Giants Tuesday, March 13, according to a source. Stewart's old offensive coordinator in Carolina, Mike Shula, is the Giants' offensive coordinator.

Huddle Up: The Giants have a need at running back and the connection with Shula would make a reunion even more logical. Stewart is almost exclusively a short-yardage running back at this point in his career, though, and cannot be drafted as more than a flex wherever he ends up.

  • Posted: 3/12/2018 9:15am ET

Free-agent RB Jonathan Stewart (Panthers) is scheduled to meet with the Detroit Lions Monday, March 12, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Stewart probably will not be able to find a starting job in free agency but could be a solid contributor in running back committee. He can be considered a No. 3 or No. 4 in standard leagues next season.

  • Posted: 3/8/2018 8:32am ET

Free-agent RB Jonathan Stewart (Panthers) is visiting the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, March 8.

Huddle Up: J-Stew still has some RB4 value. The Seahawks could be an option to bring him the most fantasy value as a short-yardage, goal line back.

  • Posted: 2/28/2018 8:31am ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart was released Wednesday, Feb. 28.

Huddle Up: J-Stew is extremely long in the tooth for a running back, but he could be a serviceable short-yardage back. He offers little upside in fantasy but could be an RB4 for depth.

  • Posted: 1/7/2018 5:14pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart ran 11 times for a game-high 51 yards in the NFC Wild Card Game on Sunday, Jan. 7, against the New Orleans Saints.

Huddle Up: Stewart rolled for 680 yards and six touchdowns on 198 attempts, sharing the load with rookie Christian McCaffrey this season. The future is McCaffrey, a high-round pick, and Stewart's future in Charlotte is certainly murky at this point.

  • Posted: 1/5/2018 2:14pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (back) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 5, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Huddle Up: Stewart should receive most of the caries in the running back for the Panthers but should only be considered a flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 1/4/2018 8:38am ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (back) is practicing Thursday, Jan. 4.

Huddle Up: J-Stew had 23 rushes for 102 yards and a score in two games against the New Orleans Saints this season. He wasn't used a lot down the stretch, and the Saints could keep the Panthers passing often. So Stewart is a meager flex option in playoff leagues.

  • Posted: 1/3/2018 2:55pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (back) was limited during practice Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Huddle Up: Stewart was not able to play in Week 17, so owners should check on his status later in the week. He probably will receive most of the carries if he plays but should only be considered a flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 12/29/2017 3:28pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Huddle Up: Stewart has struggled over the last two games but has received at least 10 carries in eight of his last nine games. He could be a flex option in standard leagues but is not a strong fantasy option this week.

  • Posted: 12/28/2017 12:14pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 28.

Huddle Up: The Panthers still have a chance to win the NFC South, so Stewart should receive a full workload against the Atlanta Falcons. He has struggled over the last few games but could still be a flex option in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 12/27/2017 2:29pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (rest) did not practice on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Stewart was getting the mid-week veteran's rest to keep him healthy for game day. He has been rather sporadic in terms of production and should be treated more as a low-end RB3 or flex option in most fantasy leagues for the finale.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 1:51pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart ran seven times for 19 yards in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his one catch went for minus-1 yards.

Huddle Up: Stewart is a headache for fantasy owners. Most likely gave up on him and then he went for 103 yards and three scores against a tough Vikings defense. Then, he has struggled over the past two weeks in favorable matchups.

  • Posted: 12/17/2017 3:35pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 11 times for just 27 yards in Week 15 against the Green Bay Packers and he added one grab for nine yards.

Huddle Up: After hitting the century mark with three touchdowns against the Vikings, he struggled in what was supposed to be a favorable matchup. He is just so inconsistent for fantasy owners. Next week against the Buccaneers should be a favorable matchup, but will good Jonathan or bad Jonathan show up?

  • Posted: 12/15/2017 2:51pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (rest) was able to practice in full Friday, Dec. 15, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 15 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: Stewart is coming off a 103-yard, three-touchdown performance against the Vikings last week, a surprise for sure. Temper expectations and treat him as a RB3 or flex fantasy option across the board against the Pack.

  • Posted: 12/14/2017 1:09pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Stewart is coming off one of his best games of the season in Week 14 and has five touchdowns in his last three games. He probably should be considered as at least a flex option in standard leagues this week against the Green Bay Packers.

  • Posted: 12/13/2017 3:34pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 13, as he was resting.

Huddle Up: Stewart was getting the veteran's mid-week rest, and he certainly earned it going over 100 yards with three touchdowns against a stout Vikings defense last week. Despite the big game he should still be viewed as a RB3 or flex fantasy option against the Packers this week.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 2:07pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 16 times for 103 yards and three touchdowns in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Huddle Up: Not many people predicted this type of production against a stifling Vikings rush defense. Stewart certainly surprised and led many to playoff fantasy wins for those who rolled the dice on him. He'll look to keep it rolling in Week 15 against the visiting Packers.

  • Posted: 12/8/2017 12:30pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Stewart has two rushing touchdowns in the last two games but has been held to 45 yards or less in four of the last five games. He has a chance to be a flex option in standard leagues but can also be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 12/7/2017 12:24pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: Stewart continues to receive a solid amount of carries during games and has a touchdown in each of his last two games. He has been held to under 50 yards in six of his last seven games and probably can be avoided in most leagues because of the tough matchup.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 8:52pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 11 times for 45 yards and a touchdown in a 31-21 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Stewart will provide an occasional touchdown, but he is averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and is a flex option, at best. You may want to avoid him all together against a stingy Minnesota Vikings defense in Week 14.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 6:19pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 15 times for just 26 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the New York Jets and he did not have a catch.

Huddle Up: If not for the touchdown his fantasy owners would be really salty after this egg-laying. He continues to struggle while Christian McCaffrey has averaged 4.4 yards per carry or better over his past three outings.

  • Posted: 11/13/2017 9:23pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart recorded his first 100-yard game of the season, totaling 110 yards on 17 carries in the team's Week 10 triumph Monday, Nov. 13, opposite the Miami Dolphins.

Huddle Up: Stewart didn't find the end zone, nor did he have any receiving stats, but his owners won't mind that after this long-awaited breakout performance that could save his season. Up to this point, the 10-year veteran has mostly been a disaster in 2017, but perhaps this huge outing will get him going for the stretch run. In the meantime, he's still just a FLEX option.

  • Posted: 11/11/2017 12:52pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) fully participate in practice Saturday, Nov. 11, and is not on the injury report for Week 10. The Panthers did not hold a practice Saturday, so his practice designation is an estimation.

Huddle Up: Stewart likely will receive his normal workload this week and should lead the team in carries. He has struggled over the last five weeks and can be avoided in fantasy leagues if owners have better options available.

  • Posted: 11/10/2017 3:38pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) was able to take part in a full practice session Friday, Nov. 10.

Huddle Up: Stewart is likely champing at the bit to get out on the field Monday and show that last week's performance was an aberration. He coughed up two fumbles and coach Ron Rivera had the veteran grab some pine, using Christian McCaffrey more in the run game at J-Stew's expense. Rivera gave Stewart a vote of confidence this week, but he might have a short leash.

  • Posted: 11/9/2017 12:00pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 9.

Huddle Up: Stewart has received at least 10 carries in all but one game this season but has been held to under 50 yards in each of the last five games. He also lost two fumbles in Week 9 but probably will receive a similar workload this week. Owners should be able to find better options and can avoid Stewart.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 2:19pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart ran 11 times for just 21 yards and he lost two fumbles in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Huddle Up: With Stewart struggling badly, head coach Ron Rivera leaned upon Christian McCaffrey a lot more with some success. It's uncertain if it's a changing of the guard in Charlotte, or just a temporary situation, but it's a worth monitoring very closely heading into Week 10 against the visiting Dolphins.

  • Posted: 11/3/2017 12:10pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 3, and is not on the injury report for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Stewart still has an important role in the running game but has not posted great numbers in any game this season. He could be a low-end flex option in deeper leagues but is not a strong starting option.

  • Posted: 11/2/2017 11:52am ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 2.

Huddle Up: Stewart recorded his first touchdown of the season last week but was held to under 50 yards for the fourth straight game. He will continue to receive most of the work in the rushing game but should only be a flex option in deeper leagues at this point.

  • Posted: 11/1/2017 1:54pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Stewart found the end zone for the first time this season last week, but he still only manage 34 yards on 11 carries. On the season he's right at 3.0 yards per carry and is a non-factor in the passing game. Stewart is merely a desperate flex play.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 1:58pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 11 times for 34 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: Stewart opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, but he was mostly contained outside of an 11-yard scamper in the first half. He'll look for better results in Week 9 against the visiting Atlanta Falcons, but treat him more as an RB3 or flex play in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/27/2017 4:21pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Stewart will continue to receive most of the carries for the Panthers but has been held to under 50 yards in each of the last three games. He could be a flex option in some deeper leagues, but owners probably have better options for their starting lineups.

  • Posted: 10/26/2017 11:58am ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Stewart appears to have a solid chance to play in Week 8 and could continue to receive a solid amount of carries if he plays. He has received at least 12 games in six of the seven games in 2017 but has not rushed for more than 68 yards in any game. He can be considered a flex option in deeper leagues because of the number of teams on bye.

  • Posted: 10/25/2017 12:16pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (toe) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Huddle Up: Stewart receives his fair share of carries; he simply does not do anything with them. Given 99 carries on the season, Stewart has averaged a measly 3.0 yards per carry and is a non-factor in the passing game. Since there are plenty of byes in Week 8, he's a low, low flex play in deep leagues given the volume of carries.

  • Posted: 10/22/2017 2:50pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 14 times for 48 yards in Week 7 against the Chicago Bears and he did not have any receptions.

Huddle Up: Stewart hasn't scored a rushing touchdown in seven outings, and he hasn't found the end zone at all since the first outing of the season. He has logged just 65 rushing yards on 40 totes over the past three games and simply cannot be trusted in fantasy right now.

  • Posted: 10/20/2017 3:09pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 20, and has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 7 game with the Chicago Bears.

Huddle Up: Stewart and Christian McCaffrey will divvy up the workload in the Carolina backfield on Sunday, with Stewart acting as the hammer with more carries and McCaffrey catching the ball more out of the backfield. Stewart is a decent RB3 or flex option.

  • Posted: 10/19/2017 11:54am ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: Stewart was held to minus four yards last week but will continue to receive most of the carries in the running game. He could be a possible flex option in deeper leagues, but owners in most leagues should have better options available and can bench Stewart.

  • Posted: 10/18/2017 12:08pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Huddle Up: Stewart couldn't run through a pile of cotton candy with the way he's been playing this year. His running mate, Christian McCaffrey, is the far superior play in both standard and PPR leagues nowadays. Stewart can keep wasting away on the bench as it's unlikely anyone besides his immediate family members want to trade for him at this point.

  • Posted: 10/12/2017 9:35pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart had eight carries for minus-four yards during the team's Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Stewart was targeted twice in the passing game but did not record a reception.

Huddle Up: After gaining just 21 yards on 18 carries in Motown, Stewart went backwards Thursday night, giving him 17 yards on his last 26 carries. The veteran hasn't scored this season and hasn't reached 70 yards in a game. That's a bad combination, and it's ample reason to keep Stewart on your bench until further notice.

  • Posted: 10/11/2017 1:43pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 11, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the game Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: Stewart and rookie Christian McCaffrey will once again divvy up the touches in the Carolina backfield, with Stewart acting as the hammer and McCaffrey being used more in passing situations.

  • Posted: 10/10/2017 12:10pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) was a limited practice participant Tuesday, Oct. 10, after missing practice Monday, Oct. 9.

Huddle Up: Stewart has done nothing yet to show that he deserves more than flex consideration, especially versus a stout Eagles' rush defense that has Fletcher Cox returning.

  • Posted: 10/9/2017 2:02pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 9. The Panthers did not practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

Huddle Up: Stewart was held to only 21 yards in the last game but will continue to receive most of the carries in the running game. He will be facing a tough Philadelphia Eagles defense in Week 6 and could be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 3:29pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 18 times for 21 yards in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions, and he added three grabs for 23 yards on his three targets.

Huddle Up: The Lions bottled up the rushing attack of the Panthers, so Carolina went to the air for most of its offensive production. He'll face another tough matchup in Week 6 on Thursday night against an Eagles rush defense which entered Week 4 ranked No. 1 in the NFC, and No. 2 in the NFL.

  • Posted: 10/6/2017 2:02pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 6, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.

Huddle Up: Stewart has been receiving a solid number of carries this season and has been a consistent performer for fantasy owners. He could be a flex option in deeper leagues, but owners may have better options to use in their lineups this week.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 3:26pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart ran 14 times for 68 yards Sunday, Oct. 1, in a 33-30 win over the New England Patriots.

Huddle Up: With Christian McCaffrey ineffective against the Patriots, Stewart stepped up to the challenge. Despite the solid performance, keep Stewart as a low-end RB2 option.

  • Posted: 9/28/2017 12:23pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (non-injury) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 28.

Huddle Up: Stewart will be fine for Week 4 and should continue receive most of the carries during the game. He has posted at least 57 yards in two of the three games this season but has not found the end zone. He could be a flex option in some leagues but could also be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 1:36pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed 12 times for 57 yards in Week 3 against New Orleans and he added one grab for four yards.

Huddle Up: Fantasy owners expected much more against a porous Saints defense but Stewart didn't contribute much to point totals. He'll look to rebound in Week 4 at New England, but treat him as more of a low-end RB2 in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 9/21/2017 12:01pm ET

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (rest) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Huddle Up: Stewart will be good to go in a great matchup against the New Orleans Saints this week. While he does split playing time with Christian McCaffrey, Stewart deserves RB2 attention in both standard and PPR leagues.
