Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (abdomen) was a limited participant in practice Monday, Nov. 20.

Huddle Up: After exiting Sunday's blowout win over the Bills, Benjamin may have put himself in position to return to action on Thanksgiving by at least getting in a limited practice the following day. Either way, he's such a volatile player to deploy in fantasy that he should really only be considered as an option for the most desperate owners in deeper leagues.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (abdomen) left the Week 11 game against the Buffalo Bills due to an abdominal strain.

Huddle Up: The game got out of hand early and he might have been held out of the game as a precaution. When there is an update on his condition we'll pass it along. The Chargers have a quick turnaround with a game on Thanksgiving in Dallas.

  • Posted: 11/12/2017 7:25pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin was held without a catch and ran once for 13 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10.

Huddle Up: Benjamin has the speed to break some big plays, but he is an all-or-nothing receiver. He is better served as a DFS flier than a standard league option.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 6:26pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin caught five passes for a team-high 64 yards and a touchdown and had two carries for 14 yards in a 21-13 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8.

Huddle Up: Benjamin led the Chargers in catches, targets and yards in Week 8, but it was the first time since Week 3 that he recorded more than two receptions. He is still to inconsistent to trust in fantasy circles.

  • Posted: 10/22/2017 8:22pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin posted a 42-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter of the Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos on his only target and he ripped off a 65-yard punt return to open the scoring in the first quarter.

Huddle Up: Benjamin is a speed burner, and it would be a good idea to try and get the ball in his hands a little more often. For now fantasy owners should only target him as a WR5 with some upside going forward.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 6:29pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin posted five receptions for 105 yards on eight targets in the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: Benjamin is a speed burner, and his 44-yard catch was just one yard short of a career best. Temper expectations heading into Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, however, as he entered the game with just four grabs for 54 yards and a score. He needs more games like this before he becomes someone to consider regularly in fantasy.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin caught three passes for 43 yards, including a 38-yard TD strike from Philip Rivers, in a 24-21 loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday, Sept. 11.

Huddle Up: Benjamin's workload will only be limited because Rivers has plenty to work with in the offense. He only saw three touches, which suggests his performance in yardage leagues might suffer a bit. Scoring leagues is a different story. A quick strike like that will add up points, so make sure Benjamin is somehow activated in your lineup if you have a scoring league.

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) is fully healthy heading into training after having knee surgery at the end of last season.

Huddle Up: Benjamin has big-play speed, but consistency is going to be tough to come by as part of a suddenly deep receiving corps. He is a late-round flier in deeper formats.

  • Posted: 6/18/2017 6:21pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin's vertical speed is a 'game changer' for the offense, according to head coach Anthony Lynn, and Lynn said he wants Benjamin to return punts this season.

Huddle Up: Benjamin has the speed to take the top off the defense, but the Chargers' crowded receiving corps will make consistency tough to come by. His value will be tied to big plays, making him more appealing as a DFS flier than a standard league option.

  • Posted: 6/5/2017 9:48pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers WR Travis Benjamin saw his numbers drop across the board in 2016 in his first year with the club. In his final season in Cleveland in 2015, Benjamin registered 68 catches on 125 targets for 966 yards and five touchdowns, while playing in all 16 games. Last year, though, Benjamin managed to suit up in 14 games, en route to notching 47 receptions on 75 targets for 677 yards and four touchdowns.

Huddle Up: Even when No. 1 wide-out Keenan Allen went down in the beginning of the campaign, Benjamin still couldn't consistently post the big statistics that some owners were expecting, as injuries also contributed to his sometimes erratic play. With Allen set to return, not to mention the presence of emerging receiver Tyrell Williams and first-round draft pick Mike Williams, it doesn't seem likely Benjamin can be relied upon regularly in fantasy this season.

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin has been declared inactive for the team's Week 17 game.

Huddle Up: Benjamin was not on the injury report this week, so it appears like he is a healthy scratch. He should have a solid role in the passing game next season and can be a No. 3 receiver in some leagues. Tyrell Williams and Dontrelle Inman should receive most of the work in the passing game. Williams can be a No. 3 receiver for owners, while Inman can be a flex option.

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) was active for the Week 12 game against the Houston Texans, but he was limited to one grab for eight yards on two targets.

Huddle Up: Benjamin didn't do much, and perhaps he was dealing with ill-effects of his injury. He could factor in more prominently in Week 14 with Tyrell Williams leaving the game early.

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) will play in Week 12's game against the Houston Texans, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Benjamin was listed as questionable on the injury report despite being a full participant in practice throughout the week. He merits consideration as a flex option in deeper leagues despite the somewhat unfavorable matchup.

  • Posted: 11/25/2016 4:16pm ET

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 25, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Benjamin was a full participant during practice this week and should be ready to play against the Houston Texans. He has been held to under five catches in each of the last four games and has less than 55 yards in each of those games. Benjamin could be considered a flex option in deeper leagues because he should see be involved in the passing game.

  • Posted: 11/24/2016 3:18pm ET

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Nov. 24.

Huddle Up: The warning signs are legitimate for Benjamin this week. He's missed the last two weeks with his knee injury and faces a really tough test in the Houston Texans. Don't consider Benjamin as more than a flex start.

  • Posted: 11/23/2016 1:21pm ET

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) was a full participant in practice Wednesday Nov. 23.

Huddle Up: Unfortunately for Benjamin he'll return against one of the better pass defenses in the NFL this year in the Houston Texans. If there aren't better options then start him, but he has risk written all over him this week between the matchup and the return from injury.

  • Posted: 11/22/2016 4:32pm ET

San Diego Chargers WR Travis Benjamin (knee) returned to practice Monday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: This is excellent news for Benjamin, after the former Cleveland Brown missed the club's last contest in Week 10, but it appears the bye week really did wonders for his sprained PCL. As long as he's able to keep trending in the right direction throughout the week, Benjamin should return to action Sunday, and he'll be a strongly recommended pickup for any leagues where he might be available. Benjamin is San Diego's best receiver with Keenan Allen (knee) out for the year, and was leading the club in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns prior to going down with injury. He still might be a little hobbled, though, which makes him a risky WR3 play for Week 12.
