Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 14 times for 68 yards in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans and he added two receptions for just two yards.

Huddle Up: Miller isn't being pushed by anyone, so he'll be the bellcow for Houston. However, he is still more of a low-end RB2 or must-start RB3 heading into Week 3 against the New York Giants.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 6:06pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 20 times for 98 yards in the Week 1 loss against the New England Patriots and he also chipped in with one grab for 11 yards.

Huddle Up: Miller is the top tailback on the roster and Alfred Blue isn't expected to push him for a bigger role. There are plenty of running back tandems to make fantasy owners pull their hair out, but Houston isn't one of them. The Texans will travel to meet the Titans in Week 2.

  • Posted: 8/24/2018 10:18am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller was referenced as a 'three-down back' by head coach Bill O'Brien on Friday, Aug. 24. 'Hes what we call a three-down back. We feel like he can play on first, second and third down. Hes a very good pass protector, blitz pickup guy. Hes really good at that. Very good runner, good receiver out of the backfield, very smart player. He and Deshaun (Watson) have a real good chemistry back there in the backfield, and hes a good guy to have back there,' O'Brien said.

Huddle Up: Miller has had plenty of opportunity in his first two years with the Texans, but offensive line issues haven't helped him distinguish himself as the bell-cow runner fantasy owners desire. Down to his lightest playing weight (217 pounds) since he was a Miami Dolphin and with an upgraded group of blockers in front of him, it is possible we could finally see what he is capable of in 2018. He's a safe RB2 selection and a good RB1 choice for owners who elect to go receiver-heavy in the first three rounds.

  • Posted: 7/27/2018 10:26am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller told The Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson he is at 217 pounds - his lightest weight since joining the team in 2016.

Huddle Up: After making big plays on a regular basis with the Miami Dolphins from 2012-15, Miller put on some weight upon arriving in Houston to better withstand the punishment he expected to receive as a feature back. While he has been durable for the most part, the big plays have been lacking - as evidenced by a long run of 21 yards last season. With D'Onta Foreman uncertain for the start of the season, Miller has a great chance to put a stranglehold on the starting job in 2018 and be a solid RB2.

  • Posted: 5/17/2018 6:52pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller will likely keep his roster spot and open the year as the starter because RB D'Onta Foreman (Achilles') is still recovering, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

Huddle Up: Miller has been a volume-based RB2 while with the Texans, but a lack of explosive plays has opened the door for Foreman. Foreman has the higher ceiling and is the better long-term investment, but both backs will be worth owning.

  • Posted: 2/25/2018 6:27pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller will likely need to have a strong year if he wants to remain with Houston beyond the 2018 season, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com, and Barshap said there is a chance Miller could be released as soon as this offseason.

Huddle Up: The arrow is pointing up for D'Onta Foreman, and if Miller is released prior to next year, Foreman would vault into RB2 territory.

  • Posted: 2/24/2018 2:27pm ET

Houston Texans RB D'Onta Foreman may take more touches from RB Lamar Miller next season and could take over as the team's top running back, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Sarah Barshop.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Foreman is named the starting running back before the season. Foreman was limited to 10 games in 2017 and finished with 327 yards and two touchdowns. He can be a No. 3 running back in standard leagues if he leads the team in carries.

  • Posted: 12/25/2017 5:08pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed for 55 yards on 10 carries against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16. He also caught one pass for 10 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: Miller has been fairly consistent in terms of his rushing yards this season but has only three rushing touchdowns during that span. He could be a flex option in deeper leagues, but owners in most leagues probably can find better options.

  • Posted: 12/17/2017 7:45pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed nine times for 32 yards in Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he added two receptions for just one yard on his four targets.

Huddle Up: Miller has failed to find the end zone in each of the past three outings and he has just 93 total yards from scrimmage over the past two games. He is letting his fantasy owners down when it matters most.

  • Posted: 12/14/2017 3:29pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Miller should be able to play in Week 15, but owners will need to check on his status later in the week. He has been a consistent fantasy option for owners and could be a flex option in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/13/2017 4:01pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: Miller should be able to play, but check back officially on Friday when the injury report is released. He'll be up against a Jacksonville rush defense allowing 117.4 yards per game, 22nd in the NFL. He totaled 96 yards from scrimmage on 19 touches in the first meeting with the Jaguars back in Week 1.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 7:07pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller carried 17 times for 53 yards and caught two passes for seven yards in a 26-16 win over the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.

Huddle Up: Running room has been tougher for Miller to find since Deshaun Watson was injured, and his value is capped as a low-end, volume-based RB2.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 6:14pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 15 times for 56 yards in Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans and he added four receptions for 38 yards on his four targets.

Huddle Up: Miller didn't do much for his fantasy owners in standard leagues, but he wasn't a total killer in PPR formats. He'll need to do more in Week 14 against the San Francisco 49ers.

  • Posted: 11/30/2017 2:28pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 30.

Huddle Up: Miller appears to be on track to play in Week 13 as long as he does not suffer a setback over the next few days. He has posted consistent numbers over the last several weeks and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 11/29/2017 4:31pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to monitor the situation to see if Miller is in any danger of missing Week 13. He has posted consistent numbers over the last few months but has been held to under 65 yards in the last six games. He can be a No. 2 running back or flex option if he plays.

  • Posted: 11/27/2017 8:47pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Miller has been pretty consistent this season but post a rushing touchdown for the first time in four games. He should receive a similar workload next week and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/19/2017 6:33pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 22 times for 61 yards in Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals and he added four receptions for 22 yards and a score.

Huddle Up: Miller was outshined by D'Onta Foreman, who had two rushing scores including the game-winner. However, Foreman tore his Achilles' on the final play. Miller is likely to benefit with more touches going forward as a result.

  • Posted: 11/12/2017 8:15pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 11 times for 60 yards and caught one pass for 14 yards in a 33-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10.

Huddle Up: Miller ran well, but Houston fell behind quickly in the second half and had to abandon the running game. Unfortunately for Miller owners, this could be a theme going forward now that Tom Savage is back under center.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 3:20pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 10 times for 57 yards in Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts while adding three grabs for 34 yards on four targets.

Huddle Up: Miller totaled just 13 touches, perhaps limited due to the knee injury which kept him on the sidelines at times during practice this week. He remains a decent RB2 heading into Week 10 against the Rams.

  • Posted: 11/3/2017 1:35pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) practiced in full on Friday, Nov. 3, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of Week 9 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Huddle Up: Miller is coming off a two-touchdown performance in Seattle last week on a season-high 24 total touches. He remains a tremendous RB2 in all fantasy formats. The Colts rank 19th in the NFL in rushing defense, allowing 116.4 yards per game with 10 touchdowns.

  • Posted: 11/2/2017 1:27pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 2.

Huddle Up: Miller probably has a solid chance to play this week, but owners will have a better idea of his status later in the week. He has received at least 15 carries in six of his last seven games and has also been involved in the passing game. He can be a No. 2 fantasy back this week against the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Posted: 11/1/2017 2:26pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Miller scored a pair of touchdowns in Week 8 against the Seahawks and there wasn't any report of an injury after the game. It's likely the normal dings and bruises that happen at this time of the year. Circle back around on Friday when the official injury report comes out. If he is healthy and ready for Week 9 against the Colts, he faces a very favorable matchup for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 7:02pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 21 times for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks, and he added three grabs for 19 yards and a score.

Huddle Up: After failing to find the end zone in his first three games, Miller has two multi-score games over his past four starts. He has been a low-end RB2 performers in most standard leagues and a solid RB2 in all PPR formats. Miller should have another nice stat line in Week 9 against the skidding Colts.

  • Posted: 10/15/2017 2:45pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 15 times for 41 yards in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns while adding three receptions for 40 yards on four targets.

Huddle Up: The total yardage was nice, but he had just 2.7 yards per rush to 4.9 yards per tote for D'Onta Foreman. Miller was used slightly less in the second half with the game out of hand, too. The team is off in Week 7 for its bye.

  • Posted: 10/13/2017 9:51pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller said he feels he has room for improvement and needs to start breaking longer runs. 'I feel like, me personally, I got to break some more runs, long runs,' Miller said. 'I don?t think I've got a 20-yard run yet.'

Huddle Up: While Miller's longest run of the year is just 19 yards, he is averaging 93.2 total yards and 19 touches per game. Expect volume-based RB2 production against the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 2:20pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller ran 19 times for 75 yards and scored one touchdown Sunday, Oct. 1, in a 57-14 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Huddle Up: Miller cracked the 65-yard mark, which he had not done in the first three games of the season. This is a decent performance for Miller, but he could come back down to earth a bit in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 2:25pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed for 56 yards on 14 carries against the New England Patriots in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Miller has been fairly consistent over the first three weeks of the season but has not rushed for more than 65 yards in any of the games. He should continue to receive most of the carries at this time but may only be a flex option against the Tennessee Titans.
