Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick rushed nine times for a team-high 35 yards in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears and he added one reception for four yards on two targets.

Huddle Up: Riddick stepped up in the backfield with Ameer Abdullah going nowhere. Neither running back has a very good fantasy outlook heading into Thanksgiving against the Vikings in Week 12.

  • Posted: 11/6/2017 9:21pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick accumulated a season-high 73 total yards in the team's Week 9 game Monday, Nov. 6, versus the Green Bay Packers. He finished with 11 rushing yards on five attempts and hauled in all four of his targets for 62 yards.

Huddle Up: It's not saying much that Riddick was able to produce a season high in this one, as the five-year veteran really hasn't had a chance to match his output from the previous two years. But it's worth noting that after Ameer Abdullah fumbled the ball for the second time in the game, it was Riddick and Dwayne Washington who saw all the work out of the backfield, meaning Riddick could be getting a boost if Abdullah's workload is cut. It's a situation worth following.

  • Posted: 10/15/2017 4:53pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick rushed twice for eight yards in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints while adding five receptions for 45 yards on seven targets.

Huddle Up: Riddick is far more valuable in PPR fantasy leagues than standard formats. The Lions are off in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 3:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick rushed twice for eight yards in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers while adding four receptions for 45 yards on five targets.

Huddle Up: Riddick doesn't do much in the run game, and he likely never will. But he has soft hands out of the backfield, reeling in three or more catches in four of his five games. He remains a decent RB3 or flex play in PPR leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 6 against the Saints.

  • Posted: 10/6/2017 9:09am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick has received more defensive attention than he has in previous years, according to offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter. 'There?s definitely quite a bit of attention going to him. There?s been a couple plays here or there where we?ve just not connected which could have been big ones, so it?s kind of on us to get that going. On me as well. I wouldn?t say defenses are drastically changing their structure, but every now and then there might be a vital call where Theo may have been one-on-one in the past and now he?s sort of doubled,' Cooter said.

Huddle Up: There is little doubt Ameer Abdullah's increased role in the offense has played a role in Riddick's lack of production so far as well, as has the fact Detroit isn't playing from behind near as much as it has in previous years. Riddick is worth holding onto, but he may be more of a low-end flex option this year who is only useful in negative game-script situations, which aren't always easy to predict beforehand.

  • Posted: 9/18/2017 8:51pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick rushed nine times for 20 yards while added three receptions for 17 yards in Week 2 against the New York Giants on Monday, Sept. 18.

Huddle Up: With Ameer Abdullah back to 100 percent health, Riddick will have to share the touches in the Detroit backfield. He doesn't have a ton of fantasy appeal in most standard fantasy formats, but he is a solid RB3 or flex play in most PPR leagues. The Lions host the Falcons in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 4:37pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick racked up six receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in Week 1 against the Cardinals. He also rushed once, but he went backwards for a yard.

Huddle Up: Riddick is a decent option in most PPR leagues, but he isn't a terribly attractive play in most standard formats. He'll look for better production in Week 2 on the road against the Giants on Monday night.

  • Posted: 9/7/2017 7:56pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah and RB Theo Riddick could be on the field together at times, according to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com.

Huddle Up: Abdullah is the more complete back of the two. He has a chance to sneak into RB2 territory this season, but he is more of a flex play in Week 1 against an Arizona defense that allowed just 3.6 yards per carry last year. Riddick is mainly a threat as a receiver out of the backfield and can be a RB3 in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 7/31/2017 6:18am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrists) practiced in a non-contact jersey Sunday, July 30.

Huddle Up: Riddick is expected to be a valued target inside the red zone, and he could provide bang for the fantasy buck as an RB3 in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 7/26/2017 10:34am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick could see his role expand even more inside the red zone this year, according to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com.

Huddle Up: The Lions need someone to replace Anquan Boldin's 22 red zone targets last year, good for third in the league. Riddick had five receiving touchdowns last year - all inside the 20 and three from one yard out. Along with Eric Ebron, expect Riddick to become a key part of Detroit's attack near the goal line. Riddick should provide RB3 worth in fantasy.

  • Posted: 7/24/2017 4:31pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) expects to be ready for the start of training camp but it is not known if he will be limited during the early part of camp. Riddick's surgically repaired wrists are structurally sound, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Riddick missed all of the offseason workouts because of his wrists but probably will receive some work during the preseason. He likely will be used as mostly a receiver out of the backfield but will also receive some carries during the season. He will be a valuable option in point-per-reception leagues and can be a No. 3 running back or flex option for owners.

  • Posted: 7/14/2017 8:36pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick will be used mainly in the passing game if RB Ameer Abdullah is healthy, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, and Birkett believes Riddick could approach 1,000 yards from scrimmage with around 700 coming as a receiver.

Huddle Up: Riddick should at least make for a solid flex play in PPR formats, and given Abdullah's injury history, there is a good chance Riddick could be a RB2 at some point this season.

  • Posted: 5/31/2017 12:19pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) was running and working out on the sidelines during practice Wednesday, May 31, and had the ball in his left hand because his right hand is heavily wrapped.

Huddle Up: Riddick probably will not do much until training camp because he is still recovering from wrist surgery. He should receive most of his work as a receiver out of the backfield but could receive some carries. He probably can be considered a No. 3 running back in standard leagues and has a chance to be a low-end No. 2 back in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 5/28/2017 8:21am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is unlikely to do much at OTAs as the team has a history of bringing back established players from injury slowly, per ESPN's Michael Rothstein.

Huddle Up: Riddick is coming off surgery on both wrists and Rothstein believes the goal is to have him ready 'by some point in August.' The fifth-year back will continue to see most of his snaps on passing downs, while the Lions cross their fingers Ameer Abdullah can stay healthy and hope the improvements they made on the offensive line are enough to pick up their woeful rushing attack. Riddick should be considered a decent RB2 option in most PPR formats.

  • Posted: 3/26/2017 12:03pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) underwent surgery on both of his wrists after the season, according to sources. Riddick is expected to be a full participant in organized team activities later this spring.

Huddle Up: The Lions appear to be doing everything in their power to improve the running game this offseason, but Riddick's role as the passing-down specialist in an offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter's quick-hitting offense would seem to make him the safest fantasy investment at his position. At the moment, he's worth a look as a low-end RB2 in PPR leagues this season.

  • Posted: 1/9/2017 8:30am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) had his left wrist in a hard cast Monday, Jan. 9, but he said he hasn't had surgery on it.

Huddle Up: Riddick had 53 catches for 371 yards and five scores through the air, and he had a 92-357-1 rushing line. It's not a lock that he'll be used as frequently as he was this season with the late-season emergence of Zach Zenner and the return of Ameer Abdullah (foot). At best, he'll be an RB3 in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 12/31/2016 1:05pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 31. The team also promoted practice squad WR Jace Billingsley to their active roster.

Huddle Up: Zach Zenner and Dwayne Washington will continue to see playing time with Zenner receiving most of the work. Zenner can be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues, while Washington probably can be avoided. Riddick may not be a starting running back next season but will still have a solid role on offense and can be a mid- to late-round option in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 12/30/2016 1:37pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) missed practice again Friday, Dec. 30, and he has been ruled out for the team's Week 17 contest Sunday, Jan. 1, against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: With Riddick set to miss his fourth straight game, this will once again open the door for Zach Zenner, who is coming off the best performance of his career this past Monday night, so owners should strongly consider him as an RB2. Dwayne Washington also gets a boost, but he hasn't really proven anything to justify being deployed in standard leagues.

  • Posted: 12/29/2016 4:22pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) missed practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: Riddick has missed the last three contests and his lack of participation in practice this late into the week makes it likely he's going to miss a fourth straight. If that is indeed the case once again, owners should give consideration to Zach Zenner, who stepped in and performed admirably this past Monday night. Dwayne Washington also deserves a look, but Zenner is the better bet.

  • Posted: 12/28/2016 3:03pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Huddle Up: Don't expect Riddick to suit up this week after missing the last two games. The Lions will likely save him for the postseason. One can do worse than starting Zach Zenner, if need be, after he found the endzone twice last week.

  • Posted: 12/27/2016 6:47am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) ramped up his side work in practice last week.

Huddle Up: Riddick has a chance to return for the regular season finale against the Green Bay Packers. It's a midrange matchup, and he could be a flex candidate in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 12/26/2016 4:14pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 16 game.

Huddle Up: Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner will continue to share snaps at running back with Riddick sidelined. Washington probably will receive a few more touches than Zenner, but neither player should be fantasy options.

  • Posted: 12/24/2016 12:22pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not participate in practice Saturday, Dec. 24, and is listed as doubtful for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Riddick likely will miss another game, so owners should avoid him in all leagues. Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner should share snaps at running back in Week 16 but neither player is more than a flex option in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/23/2016 11:15am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) was running on the side but did not participate in the open portion of practice Friday, Dec. 23.

Huddle Up: With most of the league playing on Saturday this week, most owners probably aren't going to have the luxury of knowing whether or not Riddick will suit up Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys. As a result, owners should go ahead and bench him at this point. Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner will likely split most of the work in the Detroit backfield, but neither player is worth a start this week.

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 10:06am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 22, but is working with trainers on the sidelines.

Huddle Up: Owners should monitor the situation during the week to see if Riddick has any chance to play in Week 16. He has missed the last two games because of his wrist injury and probably would be limited if he plays. Owners should look for other options to use and avoid Riddick.

  • Posted: 12/18/2016 8:54am ET

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) has been declared inactive for Week 15's game against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: Riddick did not practice at all during the week and will remain sidelined for the second consecutive game. Dwayne Washington will receive the bulk of the carries for Detroit this afternoon and is worthy of consideration as a flex option in deeper seasonal fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/18/2016 8:00am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is not expected to play in Week 15's game against the New York Giants. He was listed as doubtful on the injury report and did not practice at all this week.

Huddle Up: Dwayne Washington is expected to see the bulk of the carries this week but he should not be viewed as anything more than a possible flex play in deeper seasonal leagues. Zach Zenner could also see some playing time but isn't a viable fantasy option.

  • Posted: 12/16/2016 4:42pm ET

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 16, and is listed as doubtful for Week 15.

Huddle Up: It looks like Riddick will miss another game, but owners should check the inactive list to make sure. Dwayne Washington may receive most of the work at running back in Week 15 but should only be considered a flex option in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/15/2016 1:29pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: This is the point in the week where missing practice starts to become a concern. If Riddick is absent again tomorrow then it could be another week of Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner. Be prepared for a backup plan if Riddick can't play. Kenneth Farrow would be a good starting option in place of Riddick, for example.

  • Posted: 12/15/2016 10:20am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: Riddick is in danger of missing his second straight game because of his injury, so owners should check on his status closer to game time. Dwayne Washington would receive more work if Riddick is ruled out but would not be more than a flex option in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/14/2016 1:37pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Riddick missed last week's game and continues to recover from a wrist injury. His status will need to be tracked over the next few days, but if he can't go again this week then Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner (if he's active) would be the primary ball-carriers. Neither should be started in the fantasy playoffs, however.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 8:54am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 14 games.

Huddle Up: Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner probably will split carries with Riddick out of the lineup. Zenner could receive more work around the goal line, which will help his fantasy value. Owners could consider both players as flex options in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/9/2016 4:21pm ET

Detroit Lions LB Theo Riddick (wrist) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 9, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be fine for the game and will receive most of the work at running back despite the injury. He should be considered a decent No. 2 running back in all leagues because of his production in the passing game in addition to the running game.

  • Posted: 12/8/2016 10:57am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) was participating during the media-access portion of practice Thursday, Dec. 8.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play in Week 14, but owners will need to monitor the situation to see if he suffers any setbacks. Riddick has not posted great numbers over the last few weeks but should still have a solid role in the offense. He can be a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/7/2016 2:02pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (wrist) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: It seems unlikely that Riddick would sit this week after being able to play last week while not at 100%. If the shifty running back is unexpectedly sidelined, however, then Dwayne Washington would make for a sleeper option in deeper standard leagues.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 9:14am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 13 game.

Huddle Up: Riddick should receive most of the work at running back against the New Orleans Saints and should also be involved in the passing game. He should be a solid No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 7:01am ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) is expected to play in Week 13's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Huddle Up: Riddick was limited in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. He has been an integral part of Detroit's running and passing game and should continue to be viewed as a solid RB2 option, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 4:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 2, and is listed as questionable for Week 13.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play this week, but owners will need to check the inactive list to make sure. He has been a factor in the running and passing game and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 2:26pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Huddle Up: There are no indications that Riddick will be missing this game, as long as he doesn't have any setbacks between now and kickoff. He's one of the more underrated running backs this week as he should be heavily involved in the passing game in what could be a shootout with the New Orleans Saints. He has high-end RB2 upside in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 11/30/2016 1:23pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Huddle Up: Riddick had an off week last week, but he's primed for a rebound performance in a great matchup versus the New Orleans Saints. He should continue to split time in the running game, but his value in the passing game makes him an RB2 option in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 11/24/2016 1:21pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick only managed 58 yards from scrimmage Thursday, Nov. 24.

Huddle Up: Riddick and the rest of the offense were definitely in one of their tougher matchups of the year against the Minnesota Vikings. He'll continue to lead the Lions in touches out of the backfield as long as he's healthy, though. Don't be terribly discouraged by this outing.

  • Posted: 11/23/2016 1:46pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Riddick should be able to play this week and probably will see the majority of snaps at running back. His ability to produce in the running and passing game is why he should be considered a No. 2 running back in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/22/2016 1:30pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick (ankle) was limited in practice Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Huddle Up: Riddick was hampered last week, too, but he still turned in a nice day in the passing game. That could be the case again this week if he is active. Look for his practice status tomorrow. If he's still limited then he'll be considered questionable.
