New England Patriots RB Jeremy Hill said he is finally feeling like himself again after having ankle surgery last season. 'I really didn't have the flexibility and the strength in it that I needed to be the back that I wanted to be,' Hill said. 'I'm glad that I got it done and I can get it back to 100 percent and be the back I know I can be.'

Huddle Up: Even if Hill is as healthy, he will have a hard time putting up big numbers in New England's crowded backfield. He's a late-round lottery ticket.

New England Patriots RB Jeremy Hill has been making a positive impressive during the team's voluntary offseason program with his work and kindness.

Huddle Up: Hill is just 25 years old and on one-year deal looking to shine, but he'll have plenty of company in the backfield from veterans, as well as incoming rookie Sony Michel. While he is doing positive things in his first few weeks in Foxboro, his fantasy outlook is rather murky with a logjam in the backfield.

  • Posted: 3/18/2018 6:27pm ET

New England Patriots RB Jeremy Hill's contract is for one year and $1.5 million with only his $150,000 signing bonus guaranteed.

Huddle Up: If Hill assumes the role of power back in New England's high-scoring offense, he could have RB2 potential because of ample scoring chances.

  • Posted: 3/16/2018 4:05pm ET

The New England Patriots are set to sign free-agent RB Jeremy Hill (Bengals), a source said Friday, March 16.

Huddle Up: Hill will essentially replace Dion Lewis, who was lost to the Tennessee Titans. After being lost in the shuffle in the Queen City with Joe Mixon taking the reins of the offense, Hill might see a rebound in fantasy appeal depending on his role. Former Bengals back Rex Burkhead emerged as a solid fantasy option in Foxboro last season. Perhaps Hill will also see a renaissance.

  • Posted: 1/31/2018 2:09pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent RB Jeremy Hill has indicated that he plans to test the free-agent market this offseason.

Huddle Up: Hill likely will not re-sign with the Bengals but may have a hard time finding a starting job this offseason. He likely will have to be part of a committee at running back with a team in 2018 and would only be a late-round option in fantasy drafts if he is not starting.

  • Posted: 1/19/2018 8:51am ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill is likely to leave via free agency, in the opinion of beat writers Jim Owczarski and Paul Dehner Jr.

Huddle Up: Hill will be entering his age-26 season and had 29 touchdowns through his first three seasons before taking a step back last season. He could be an RB2 in most situations.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) chose to have surgery on his injured ankle, which essentially forced the Bengals to place him on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Huddle Up: Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard comprise a two-man backfield in Cincinnati going forward. Mixon is clearly the more valuable running back to have despite his 3.0 yards per carry. Bernard merely provides depth in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 11/11/2017 9:52am ET

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jeremy Hill (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Nov. 11.

Huddle Up: This decision was a little unexpected, as Hill was supposed to miss just one game. But this move all but clears the way for Joe Mixon to assume carrying duties. Mixon should be a flex pick in most formats, and if your league is deep enough to carry a handcuff selection then Giovani Bernard may not make a bad pickup.

  • Posted: 11/10/2017 3:30pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 10, and has been ruled out for Week 10.

Huddle Up: Joe Mixon should receive most of the touches at running back with Hill still sidelined. He was limited to 46 total yards on 16 touches in Week 9 and is facing a solid Tennessee Titans defense. He should be considered a flex option in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/9/2017 3:48pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) missed practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Nov. 9.

Huddle Up: It doesn't really matter whether or not he plays, as Hill isn't an option right now for pretty much any league. With no touchdowns on the year and very little yardage, the only back worth deploying out of Cincinnati is obviously Joe Mixon.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 9:01am ET

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) will not play in Week 9 because of an ankle injury.

Huddle Up: Joe Mixon should receive most of the carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars with Hill sidelined. Mixon has not posted great numbers so far this season but can still be a No. 2 running back or a flex option for owners this week since he should receive a solid amount of touches.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 1:21pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill rushed for 16 yards on six carries against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4.

Huddle Up: Hill has been passed by Joe Mixon on the depth chart and likely will continue to see limited touches in games. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues unless he receives a bigger role.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 7:55pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill finished with seven carries for 23 yards and one catch for six yards in a 27-24 loss to Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Hill saw 11 fewer carries than Joe Mixon, and he seems to be falling further behind the rookie. At this point, Hill is only worth stashing in case Mixon goes down with an injury.

  • Posted: 9/14/2017 9:21pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill carried six times for 17 yards and caught a two-yard pass against the Houston Texans in Week 2.

Huddle Up: Make it two weeks in a row for Hill with exactly six carries and one reception -- hardly the stuff of fantasy relevance. Even with backfield mates Gio Bernard and Joe Mixon failing to distinguish themselves, Hill's prospects seem the bleakest of the bunch going forward. At best he can be stashed on your bench, but don't go out of your way to keep him there.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 6:19pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill rushed six times for 26 yards with one grab for minus-2 yards in Week 1 against Baltimore.

Huddle Up: Hill had a total of seven touches to eight total touches for Giovani Bernard and 11 touches for Joe Mixon. The distribution was fairly even among the triumvirate with Bernard perhaps the most attractive from a fantasy perspective. The Bengals host the Texans in Week 2 on Thursday night.

  • Posted: 9/8/2017 12:24pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 8, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.

Huddle Up: Hill probably will be the starting running back against the Baltimore Ravens but will be sharing playing time with Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard. Hill may receive a majority of the carries but probably should be considered a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 9/7/2017 12:28pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) participated fully in practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Huddle Up: Hill is the starter on paper for the Bengals, but keep an eye on how involved rookie Joe Mixon is. Mixon's talent and playmaking ability can't be ignored for long, but for now Hill is as serviceable flex play.

  • Posted: 9/6/2017 1:47pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) was able to take part in a full practice session on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Huddle Up: Hill, who was surprisingly listed at the top of the team's depth chart earlier this week, is trying to hold off Giovani Bernard and rookie Joe Mixon for touches. It's likely Hill sees a healthy amount of carries, but head coach Marvin Lewis could also use a hot-hand approach. It's a tricky backfield fantasy situation in the Queen City, and one to avoid for DFS purposes.

  • Posted: 9/5/2017 11:30am ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill is listed as the No. 1 running back on the Bengals' official depth chart.

Huddle Up: This was the prevailing thought for the majority of the offseason. Hill was hampered by the injury bug last season, so the Bengals are giving him a chance to prove himself again. Giovani Bernard and Joe Mixon obviously limit Hill's fantasy ceiling, especially in PPR formats, but Hill is an under-the-radar late-round option for those who haven't drafted.

  • Posted: 8/27/2017 2:56pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the preseason game Sunday, Aug. 27, and will not return.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to check for an update on Hill's status after the game to see if he is in danger of missing any regular season games. He may be the starting running back in 2017 but will have to share snaps with Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard. Hill could be a No. 3 or No. 4 running back in most leagues.

  • Posted: 8/10/2017 10:34am ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill will start all season unless he's injured or 'absolutely terrible,' in the opinion of The Cincinnati Enquirer's Jim Owczarski. Hill was listed as the starting running back on the Bengals' initial depth chart.

Huddle Up: There's lots of smoke blowing this time of year. It remains to be seen whether or not Cincinnati is swirling in smoke or if the air is the clear. Joe Mixon is the most talented and valuable running back on the Bengals' roster, but if Cincinnati wants to die on Hill's hill then so be it. For now, Hill provides late-round value, while Mixon remains an RB2 candidate.

  • Posted: 8/8/2017 11:31am ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill is listed with the first-team offense on the Bengals' initial depth chart.

Huddle Up: There has been growing speculation that Hill would be the Week 1 starter for the Bengals. Joe Mixon is expected to be hot on his heels, though, and has the most fantasy upside of any Bengal back. As such, Hill is more of a mid- to late-round flex option.

  • Posted: 8/4/2017 9:52am ET

Cincinnati Bengals RB Jeremy Hill will likely exit training camp as the starting running back over Joe Mixon if history is any indication, according to ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell.

Huddle Up: Mixon has been creating buzz virtually from the time he was drafted, but the Bengals do have some extensive history of making their rookies 'earn it,' so Hill serving as a nominal starter throughout September is a distinct possibility. It's a reminder Mixon has nothing locked up yet, even if he is the overwhelming favorite to lead the backfield in touches. The rookie should be considered a midrange fantasy RB2 with RB1 upside if he is able to become the featured back at any point this season.
