New England Patriots RB James White caught five passes for a team-high 85 yards in a 21-13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.

Huddle Up: White continues to be a monster catching passes out of the backfield, and he is in on pace for more than 80 receptions. His yardage totals fluctuate, but he is still a quality flex play in PPR formats.

New England Patriots RB James White rushed for 23 yards on three carries against the New York Jets in Week 6. He also caught four passes for 22 yards during the game.

Huddle Up: White has been involved in the running and passing game in every game this season and should remain in that role moving forward. He can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues next week against the Atlanta Falcons.

New England Patriots RB James White caught seven passes (on nine targets) for 57 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, Oct. 5. He also had two carries for three yards.

Huddle Up: White is an important piece of New England's passing attack, though operating out of the backfield will always keep his yardage comparatively low. He holds clear value as a flex option in point-per-reception formats.

New England Patriots RB James White rushed for 17 yards on five carries against the Houston Texans in Week 3. He also caught one pass for 11 yards in the game.

Huddle Up: White's role in the offense will change each week, but he likely will be used as a receiver most weeks. He can be a flex option in point-per-reception leagues against certain opponents but should not be a weekly starter.

  • Posted: 9/17/2017 6:54pm ET

New England Patriots RB James White rushed twice for 11 yards in Week 2 at New Orleans and he added eight receptions for 85 yards on his eight targets.

Huddle Up: White isn't a bad RB3 in most standard fantasy formats, but he's a tremendous RB2 in PPR formats heading into Week 3 against the visiting Texans.

  • Posted: 5/31/2017 7:49am ET

New England Patriots RB James White has firmly entrenched himself as the passing-down back for the club.

Huddle Up: White's snaps bloomed from 290 in 2015 to 425 last season, and the crowded backfield shouldn't play too much of a role on him. He has earned Bill Belichick and Tom Brady's trust, and he should have yours as a solid RB3 in PPR leagues.

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots RB James White's three-year extension is worth $12.69 million with $5.69 million guaranteed and a $4 million signing bonus.

Huddle Up: These guys have a lot of running backs and only so many plays to go around. White made a strong case for Super Bowl MVP, and he, and Dion Lewis, have the most upside in the backfield that also includes Rex Burkhead and potentially Mike Gillislee. This could be a weekly mix and match, but White is a high-end RB3 right now.

New England Patriots RB James White agreed to a three-year contract extension Tuesday, April 18, according to a source. He is now signed through 2020. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: The Patriots backfield is pretty stacked now with the likes of James White, Dion Lewis, Rex Burkhead and possibly Mike Gillislee, among others. Talk about a committee. This backfield could turn into a crapshoot if all these guys stay healthy. White and Lewis have the most upside, but they're all better fits for PPR leagues.

New England Patriots RB James White set a Super Bowl record with 20 points scored in Super Bowl LI.

Huddle Up: White played an important role in the Patriots' regular season, but no one anticipated the output he achieved in the Super Bowl. He has cemented himself as a PPR machine, but he'll still be splitting touches with Dion Lewis, assuming both players are healthy. Even so, White is at worst a late-round sleeper in PPR leagues for next season.

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots RB James White's 14 receptions and 110 receiving yards broke records for the respective categories by a running back in Super Bowl LI Sunday, Feb. 5.

Huddle Up: White rushed six times for 29 yards and two scores, and he added a touchdown through the air as well. He was simply incredible, and the team rode him in the second half and overtime. It'll be interesting to see if he has usurped Dion Lewis entering next season, which would make him at least a high-end RB3 in fantasy.

New England Patriots RB James White had six carries for 29 yards and two touchdowns and caught 14 passes for 110 yards and a score in a 34-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI Sunday, Feb. 5.

Huddle Up: New England took to the air early and often after falling behind, and White took advantage. Dion Lewis appeared to suffer an injury in the game, and if it is serious enough to linger into 2017, White could have some appeal in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 12/12/2016 9:46pm ET

New England Patriots RB James White rushed twice for three yards in the Week 14 game against the Baltimore Ravens Monday, Dec. 14, and he added three receptions for 81 yards on his three targets. One catch was good for a 61-yard catch and scamper.

Huddle Up: White is a solid flex option in deeper PPR fantasy leagues heading into Week 15.
