Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton posted four grabs for 40 yards in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: It wasn't a huge performance for Burton, but he was able to extend his streak with at least two catches to eight straight outings. He remains more of a low-end TE1 in deeper fantasy leagues heading into Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 2:53pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton caught two passes for 28 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.

Huddle Up: Burton has recorded four touchdowns in his last three games but has been targeted four times or less in five of thee eight games this season. He could be a low-end No. 1 tight end next week but does not have a lot of value if he does not catch a touchdown.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 5:54pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton caught three passes on four targets for 18 yards in a 24-10 win over the New York Jets in Week 8.

Huddle Up: Burton had scored in three straight games entering Week 8, but he ended up with his lowest receiving total since the opener. Chicago was content to run the ball after building an early lead, which played a role in Burton's lack of production. He should remain a TE1 candidate moving forward.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 4:17pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton posted game bests with nine catches and 126 yards in the Week 7 game against the New England Patriots while scoring a touchdown with 11 targets.

Huddle Up: Burton got off to a bit of a slow start with his new team, but he has now found the end zone in three consecutive outings. He'll look to make it four games in a row in Week 8 against the visiting Jets. Treat Burton as a low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues for that matchup.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 3:48pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton ended up with four receptions, 23 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins.

Huddle Up: Burton hasn't posted huge number, but he has three total touchdowns, including scores in each of the past two outings. He remains a decent TE2 in most fantasy formats heading into Week 7 against the New England Patriots.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 2:20pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton caught two passes for 86 yards and one touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4.

Huddle Up: Burton is starting to become a bigger factor in the passing game and has improved his receiving yards each week. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end against most opponents.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 11:36pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton finished with 55 yards on four catches in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Huddle Up: Burton's production thus far has been underwhelming, although he saved his fantasy day last week with a touchdown and set a season high in receiving yards in this one. Given the current landscape at tight end, owners likely have little choice but to hope Mitch Trubisky can start showing some signs of improvement soon. Burton figures to be a low-end TE1 option in Week 4 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • Posted: 9/17/2018 9:24pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton had four grabs for 20 yards and a touchdown on his four targets in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, Sept. 17.

Huddle Up: The touchdown was nice for Burton, but he still has just five catches and 35 yards through two games on 10 targets. He'll need to bump up those totals before becoming a regular outside of the deepest of fantasy formats. The Bears travel to meet the Cardinals in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 9:48pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton caught one of his six targets for 15 yards in a 24-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Only Allen Robinson was targeted more than Burton, so there should be better days ahead for the tight end. That being said, it looks like an adjustment period between he and Mitchell Trubisky is going to be needed, so you might want to find an alternative starter for Week 2.

  • Posted: 8/18/2018 9:23pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton caught four passes on five targets for 45 yards and touchdown against the Denver Broncos in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 18.

Huddle Up: Burton is positioned for a possible breakout campaign, and if you wait until late in your draft to address the tight end position, he could be worth taking a chance on as a low-end TE1.

  • Posted: 7/8/2018 7:39pm ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton could be second in the pecking order behind WR Allen Robinson for targets this year, in the opinion of Bryan Perez of CSNChicago.com.

Huddle Up: Burton unproven as a starter, but he has the potential for a big 2018 season. Draft him as a high-end TE2 with upside.

  • Posted: 7/3/2018 1:31am ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton sees himself as someone who can be a leader in his first year with the organization. 'I take a ton of pride in it,' Burton said. 'I'm not much of a vocal guy. I'm more of a one-on-one intimate type of communicator. I was a quarterback in high school. I had a great quarterbacks coach who taught me how to be a leader and how all the eyes are on you. Ever since then, I kind of ran with it.'

Huddle Up: Burton is slotted to play a wide receiver/tight end hybrid role in new head coach Matt Nagy's offense, which is quite significant considering that's the role Nagy deployed star tight end Travis Kelce in when he was Kansas City's offensive coordinator. As a result, Burton deserves serious consideration as someone who has the potential to be a monstrous sleeper at his position.

  • Posted: 3/28/2018 6:45am ET

Chicago Bears TE Trey Burton will fill the 'U' position in head coach Matt Nagy's offense, which is a receiver/tight end hybrid role similar to Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's. 'It's an important role,' Nagy said. 'It's easy to create some plays for. And when you have a guy that has the size that Trey has and the speed that he has, it's about mismatches.'

Huddle Up: Burton is intriguing for his upside and skill set, but he hasn't proven he can do it over a full season. He'll be a TE2 with some upside.

  • Posted: 3/13/2018 8:10am ET

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent TE Trey Burton agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal with the Chicago Bears Tuesday, March 13.

Huddle Up: Burton was starting to come into his own this season, and he'll have room to spread his wings in a different uniform. Burton is a sneaky TE2 with some upside.

  • Posted: 3/12/2018 10:21pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent TE Trey Burton has drawn interest from the Detroit Lions, who are being considered as one of the 'serious suitors' for his services.

Huddle Up: With Detroit likely to move on from Eric Ebron, this move would make sense, though it's hard to determine if Burton could be a breakout candidate if he joins the Lions. After all, Ebron, despite his great physical gifts, never realized his potential with Matthew Stafford under center, so the same underachieving fate may await Burton if he arrives in the Motor City.

  • Posted: 3/7/2018 2:53pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent TE Trey Burton is expected to receive interest from the San Francisco 49ers during free agency.

Huddle Up: The 49ers have George Kittle and Garrett Celek on the roster, but Burton likely would be a better option in the passing game if he joins the 49ers. Burton should receive a nice contract in free agency and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end for fantasy owners depending on his team.

  • Posted: 3/4/2018 7:02am ET

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent TE Trey Burton had 16 NFL teams check in on his status this week. He is not expected to return to the team as they deal with salary cap considerations.

Huddle Up: The 26-year-old Burton had 23 receptions for 248 yards and five touchdowns in 2017 as a reserve for the Super Bowl champions but is likely to step into a starting job regardless of where he lands. For that reason, he should be viewed as a low-end TE1.

  • Posted: 2/23/2018 11:39am ET

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent TE Trey Burton reportedly recently received a contract offer he 'didn't consider serious' and is expected to sign with another team when free agency begin in March, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Burton may not have been much of a household name prior to his role in the 'Philly Special,' but he may be the league's best-kept secret at the position and will likely fetch a sizeable contract on the open market. A highly athletic former college quarterback, Burton has fantasy TE1 upside if he finds a decent landing spot in free agency.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 8:53pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles TE Trey Burton posted five receptions for 71 yards on two touchdowns in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Burton stepped in for the injured Zach Ertz and it was a seamless transition. Philly likes to use their tight end in key situations and Burton did a good job being Ertz-like. He is worth a look as a low-end TE1 as a safety valve receiver for Nick Foles in Week 15 if Ertz needs to miss more time.
