Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon ran nine times for 15 yards and a touchdown in the AFC Divisional Round playoff game loss against the New England Patriots and he added an 11-yard reception.

Huddle Up: The Patriots shut down the run early, and the Bolts got away from it late with the game out of hand. Gordon will rebound nicely and be a top-flight fantasy back yet again in the 2019 season as long as he can stay healthy.

  • Posted: 1/12/2019 6:41pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon faces the New England Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs Sunday, Jan. 13, and the Patriots allowed the third-most yards per rush during the regular season.

Huddle Up: Gordon struggled to find much running room against a tough Baltimore defense to open the playoffs, but the workhorse back could be in line for a much bigger performance against New England. He should be one of the safest fantasy options for playoff contests this weekend.

  • Posted: 1/10/2019 2:31pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Jan. 10.

Huddle Up: Gordon appears to be on track to play in the Divisional Round playoff game, but owners should monitor his status over the next few days. Gordon is a must-start option in all leagues if he plays.

  • Posted: 1/9/2019 10:11pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knees) is expected to play against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Jan. 13, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. Gordon did not practice Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Huddle Up: Obviously the team hopes Gordon will be good to go, though the explosive back hasn't been the same since getting injured during a blowout win over the Cardinals in Week 12. In 10 games prior to the knee injury, Gordon averaged 125.5 total yards and 1.3 TDs per game; in the three games since, those drop to 54.3 yards and 0.67 scores. That makes him a risky play this Sunday.

  • Posted: 1/9/2019 12:02pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was sidelined from practice Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

Huddle Up: Gordon will be one of the biggest names to watch as we approach the divisional round of the playoffs. If he is limited or unable to play - the latter is unlikely - then Justin Jackson will see more touches and would be worth considering as a cheap DFS flex.

  • Posted: 1/8/2019 8:51am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) suffered a mild sprain in his knee during the Wild Card round but should be available for the Divisional round game.

Huddle Up: Gordon is a midrate option in playoff formats against the New England Patriots. The Chargers' offense is better than the Pats, and if they can avoid turnovers, they could be able to run the ball often.

  • Posted: 1/6/2019 1:45pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries against the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card playoff game.

Huddle Up: Gordon has been held to under 45 yards in each of the last three games but also has four rushing touchdowns in the last four games. He will continue to receive most of the carries and can be at least a No. 2 running back next week.

  • Posted: 1/6/2019 10:51am ET

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) returned to the AFC wild-card early in the second quarter Sunday, Jan. 6, and received two carries after heading to the locker room the previous quarter with a left-knee injury.

Huddle Up: Good to see, although Gordon is now dealing with issues with both knees. Expect to also see plenty of backups Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson.

  • Posted: 1/6/2019 10:38am ET

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is questionable to return after suffering a knee injury in the first quarter of the AFC wild-card game Sunday, Jan. 6, in Baltimore.

Huddle Up: Gordon sustained his injury -- apparently to his left knee -- on his third carry of the game. Gordon missed three games late in the regular season with an MCL sprain in his riht knee. RB Austin Ekeler carried twice and caught a pass on the series following Gordon's departure, and rookie RB Justin Jackson also is available.

  • Posted: 1/6/2019 10:25am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (leg) left the game and headed to the locker room in the first quarter of the AFC wild-card game Sunday, Jan. 6, with what appeared to be a left leg injury.

Huddle Up: Gordon went down after a goal-line carry on the Bolts' second offensive possession, logging eight yards on three carries. He was walking on his own to the locker room, which was a good sign, but Austin Ekeler and rookie Justin Jackson will step in if he can't return.

  • Posted: 1/4/2019 1:15pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 4, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card playoff game.

Huddle Up: Gordon should have a big role in the offense this week even though he will be facing a tough Baltimore Ravens defense. He should be considered a starting option in all playoff fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/3/2019 2:25pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Jan. 3.

Huddle Up: Gordon should be a big part of the offense for the Chargers in the playoff game but will be facing a tough Baltimore Ravens defense. He should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues this week.

  • Posted: 1/2/2019 3:39pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Huddle Up: Gordon should receive his normal workload against the Baltimore Ravens this week and should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/2/2019 1:14pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) said he is ready to go this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens despite sustaining an ankle injury in Week 17.

Huddle Up: The Chargers will need their star running back versus one of the best defenses in the NFL. The matchup is tough, but Gordon is still in the top tier of running backs for daily fantasy purposes given the amount of touches he sees on a game-to-game basis. Plus, he did find the end zone two weeks ago against this same Ravens squad.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 6:20pm ET

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) said he tweaked his ankle against the Denver Broncos in Week 17 but expects to be ready to play against the Baltimore Ravens in the playoffs.

Huddle Up: Assuming Gordon's ankle issue does turn out to be minor, Gordon's massive workload should make him one of the stronger fantasy options in playoff formats despite a tough matchup with Baltimore on tap.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 4:10pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (leg) limped off late in the Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos with an apparent leg injury. He is having his right leg looked at on the training table.

Huddle Up: Why Gordon was still in the game, a meaningless game for the Bolts at this point, is something only head coach Anthony Lynn can answer. Hopefully it's not serious heading into the postseason.

  • Posted: 12/22/2018 9:06pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 12 times for 41 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 13 yards in a 22-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

Huddle Up: It won't go in the books as Gordon's best outing, but on the plus side, the knee injury appears to be behind him. He should be ready to go as a RB1 in the finale.

  • Posted: 12/20/2018 2:01pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 20, and is not on the injury report for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Gordon likely will receive his normal workload this week after missing the last few weeks because of his injury. He will have a tough matchup but can still be considered a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 running back in all leagues.

  • Posted: 12/20/2018 9:14am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) will return in Week 16 after missing the previous three games with a knee injury, head coach Anthony Lynn said Thursday, Dec. 20. 'Melvin's practiced all week, and he's doing fine,' Lynn told SiriusXM NFL Radio. 'I don't know that he's himself, but he's going to play.'

Huddle Up: Gordon averaged 20.5 touches per game prior to his MCL sprain in Week 12, and while he very well could fall short of that mark in his first game in a month, he's still a low-end RB1 in a tough matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

  • Posted: 12/19/2018 3:14pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Huddle Up: Gordon appears on track to play in Week 16 and probably will receive most of the work at running back. He can be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 running back in all leagues.

  • Posted: 12/18/2018 2:11pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) practiced at full speed Tuesday, Dec. 18, according to head coach Anthony Lynn.

Huddle Up: It looks like Gordon will make his return this week, just in time for fantasy owners to put him back in lineups for those championships. He's an automatic start when he's active - even in a hard matchup this week versus the Baltimore Ravens - as he has been one of the most consistent fantasy running backs in 2018.

  • Posted: 12/18/2018 8:15am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) said he's not 100 percent and has two games to knock off the rust before the playoffs.

Huddle Up: It's possible Gordon will have Austin Ekeler (concussion) back as well as Justin Jackson to share reps with. This will knock Gordon to the RB2 range.

  • Posted: 12/17/2018 12:01pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is expected to get in a limited practice and was close to playing in Week 15 versus the Kansas City Chiefs, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. 'If we would have played that game on Sunday, he probably would have played,' Lynn told ESPN's Eric D. Williams.

Huddle Up: Gordon's likely Week 16 availability will likely not be of much comfort to those owners who were unable to advance in the fantasy playoffs, but it appears as if it allowed him the necessary recovery time in order to be in good shape for Saturday's Week 16 tilt against the Baltimore Ravens. Although the matchup isn't a great one, Gordon has emerged as a weekly threat to top 100 yards and will probably be no worse than a top-eight option.

  • Posted: 12/16/2018 5:17am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is expected to be able to return for Week 16's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Huddle Up: Gordon has been sidelined since sustaining a Grade 2 sprain of his medial collateral ligament in Week 12 but appears poised to return to action just in time to help seasonal owners who were fortunate enough to make it to the championship round without his services. When healthy, he should be viewed as a must-start option in all fantasy formats.

  • Posted: 12/13/2018 6:21am ET

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is 18 days into what was a two-to-four-week injury, and it'll be a challenge for him to play Thursday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: Even if he goes, he will be limited and at risk of reinjuring the knee. It's a huge game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but one has to wonder if it's worth the risk. Justin Jackson looks primed to be an RB2 option in fantasy.

  • Posted: 12/12/2018 12:27pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday, Dec. 13, against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: We'll need to see what Gordon does prior to tomorrow night's game. If he warms up without limitations then we can keep him in starting lineups. Temper expectations, though, as the Chargers could use Justin Jackson more to help take pressure off Gordon coming off the injury.

  • Posted: 12/11/2018 12:34pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) will be a game-time decision Thursday, Dec. 11, against the Kansas City Chiefs as he continues to nurse a sprained right knee.

Huddle Up: Austin Ekeler seems more unlikely to play than Gordon at this juncture. If Gordon ultimately can't go then Justin Jackson would be featured with Detrez Newsome playing behind him. Stay tuned, but have a backup plan ready, like Jackson, if Gordon can't play.

  • Posted: 12/11/2018 8:37am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) is unlikely to play Thursday, Dec. 13, in Week 15.

Huddle Up: Austin Ekeler (concussion) is also unlikely, and Justin Jackson could be an RB2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • Posted: 12/10/2018 7:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was estimated to be a non-participant in practice Monday, Dec. 10. The team is required to give an estimated practice participation report after the walk-through.

Huddle Up: Gordon and Austin Ekeler are banged up and in danger of missing Thursday's key AFC West showdown on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs. Justin Jackson and Detrez Newsome could be asked to do some heavy lifting if the top two backs are sidelined.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 7:21am ET

Although Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) will not play in Week 14's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, there is a chance that he could return for Week 15's contest against the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: Gordon has not resumed practicing since spraining his MCL two weeks ago, so he will need to clear that hurdle before he is given the green light to play again. Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler will continue to split carries in his absence and are both worthy of consideration as RB2s or high-end flexes for as long as Gordon is sidelined.

  • Posted: 12/7/2018 11:46am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) did not practice Friday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: Gordon has not practiced since suffering his MCL sprain just under two weeks ago, and the team has no real reason to push him to be ready in Week 14 in a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler should be started as high-end flexes at the very least, and it is possible both players push for fantasy RB1 status this week. After showing well in each of the last two weeks, Jackson should get the bulk of early-down work while Ekeler handles more of the passing-game duties.

  • Posted: 12/6/2018 4:02pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 6.

Huddle Up: Gordon's status for Week 14 is still uncertain at this point, so owners will need to monitor the situation over the next few days. He probably will be a game-time decision and could be benched if owners have healthier options available.

  • Posted: 12/6/2018 6:58am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon's (knee) availability is one thing head coach Anthony Lynn was mum on Thursday, Dec. 6. 'You never know... You just want everybody preparing for everybody,' Lynn said.

Huddle Up: If you read between the lines, that doesn't sound like Gordon is ready for Week 14. Austin Ekeler was bottled up in the 33-30 shootout last week, but Justin Jackson broke loose for an 8-63-1 line. Both are flex options against the Cincinnati Bengals.

  • Posted: 12/5/2018 3:54pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to monitor the situation during the week to see if Gordon has any chance of playing in the Week 14 game. He is a must-start option when he is healthy, but owners will need other options available in case he is ruled out.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 8:16am ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) could return to action in Week 14's game versus the Cincinnati Bengals or Week 15's contest against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to multiple sources.

Huddle Up: Gordon has not yet resumed practicing but he could return in time for the fantasy playoffs. For now, Austin Ekeler will continue to receive the bulk of the carries in Gordon's absence and should be viewed as an RB2 in all formats.

  • Posted: 11/26/2018 5:02am ET

Updating previous reports, Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) had an MRI reveal a Grade 2 sprain of his medial collateral ligament. He will miss the next few weeks, but he could return before the end of the regular season.

Huddle Up: It's typically a four-week injury at minimum, which could spell disaster for your playoff run. Austin Ekeler had five rushes for 35 yards and a touchdown and 10 catches for 68 yards yesterday. He'll be an RB2 possibility in good matchups. Seventh-round pick Justin Jackson could share the carries with him and might be worth the speculative flyer.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 10:16pm ET

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) was diagnosed with a medial collateral ligament injury in Week 12 versus the Arizona Cardinals, although he is expected to undergo further evaluation Monday, Nov. 27. ESPN's Eric Williams suggests there is a 'real possibility' Gordon will be unable to play in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Gordon was injured on an inadvertent leg-whip by Robert Nkemdiche as Gordon was preparing to carry out the back end of a double reverse with the Chargers leading by 25 in the third quarter. Considering Gordon entered the game with a hamstring injury, Los Angeles could have easily opted to roll with Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson in the second half, so some second-guessing is warranted. With the Chargers playing on Sunday night in Week 13, owners should make sure they have a backup plan in place.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 5:55pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee) did not return against the the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12 after suffering a knee injury, and head coach Anthony Lynn said more information about the injury would be available Monday, Nov. 26. Gordon had 10 carries for 61 yards and two touchdowns and two catches for five yards before exiting.

Huddle Up: A serious injury to Gordon would be a huge blow to the Chargers and to his fantasy owners. It would also make Austin Ekeler a must-add option in any leagues where he is still available.

  • Posted: 11/24/2018 9:14pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (knee, hamstring) plans to play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12, according to a source.

Huddle Up: While there is always a chance that Gordon's afternoon will end early if he aggravates either injury, the reward is well worth the risk.

  • Posted: 11/23/2018 3:19pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring, knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Gordon could be a game-time decision for the Week 12 game, so owners will need to monitor his status over the next few days. He is a solid starting option when he is healthy, but owners will need other options ready in case he is ruled out.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 6:21pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring, knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 22, after being a full participant Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: It's not encouraging to see Gordon downgraded, so make sure to keep an eye on his status moving forward. He's one of the safest RB1 options when he plays, but if he can't suit up, Austin Ekeler would become an appealing flex play.

  • Posted: 11/21/2018 4:20pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: Gordon has received at least 15 carries in nine of the 10 games this season and should receive a similar workload this week. He will have a favorable matchup and can be a No. 1 running back in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 8:09pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 18 times for 69 yards and caught six passes for 87 yards in a 23-22 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 11.

Huddle Up: Gordon did everything but find the end zone in this one, and his huge workload gives him one of the highest floors of any RB1.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 6:57pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 18 times for 93 yards in the Week 10 game against the Oakland Raiders and he added five receptions for a game-high 72 yards and a touchdown.

Huddle Up: Gordon was a fantasy beast in a game that was a defensive battle. He has at least 120 total yards from scrimmage and one score in five consecutive games dating back to Sept. 23. He has been on a role and is giving fantasy owners who nabbed him in the first round all they want and more. Next up is a battle with the Broncos in Week 11.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 7:41pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon rushed 16 times for 113 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for 10 yards in a 25-17 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9.

Huddle Up: The hamstring injury that cost him time didn't seem to be an issue, and Gordon should continue to produce RB1 numbers as long as he remains healthy.

  • Posted: 11/3/2018 9:08pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) is expected to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9, according to a source.

Huddle Up: While there is always a little risk with starting a player dealing with an injury, Gordon's every-down role with the Chargers makes him a must-start option if he is active.

  • Posted: 11/2/2018 3:35pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 2, but is listed as questionable for Week 9.

Huddle Up: Gordon appears to be on track for the game, but owners should check the inactive list to make sure. He should have a favorable matchup this week and can be a low-end No. 1 or a No. 2 running back in all leagues.

  • Posted: 11/1/2018 3:36pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Gordon appears to be on track to play in Week 9 and should receive most of the work at running back. He can be considered at least a No. 2 running back in leagues and could be a low-end No. 1 back in some leagues.

  • Posted: 10/31/2018 2:43pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Huddle Up: Gordon has been a man on fire when healthy this year. He's had two weeks to recover now and should be good to go for Week 9. Start him like you normally would as an RB1.

  • Posted: 10/29/2018 3:59pm ET

Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (hamstring) has not been ruled out of the Week 9 game at this point, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. Gordon is expected to be practice in some capacity Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Huddle Up: Gordon has been resting his injured hamstring for two weeks, so he probably will have a chance to play this week. Owners will need to monitor his practice participation during the week to see if he is in any danger of missing the game. He will be a No. 1 running back in fantasy leagues if he plays.
